Jessica is an Associate Professor of Chemistry  the C. Eugene Bennett Department of Chemistry at WVU.  Jessica’s research is centered around the development of more efficient and sustainable ways to make organic molecules.


In addition to her research endeavors, she is interested in encouraging science communication and science understanding from students and adults of all ages and from all disciplines.


The 4-year CESTA program is funded through the National Science Foundation as an outreach component of Jessica’s NSF CAREER Award (CHE-1454879).

Jason  is an Associate Professor of Sculpture in the School of Art and Design.

Jason is a multi-media sculptor and installation artist who incorporates a wide variety of materials and techniques into his oddly humorous constructions and presentations.

Todd Hamrick is an Assistant Teaching Professor in the Freshman Engineering Program at West Virginia University's Statler College of Engineering and Mineral Resources. During his career Dr. Hamrick served in a broad range of positions including design, product development, tool and die, manufacturing, sales, and management. Since 1998 he has mentored and lead youth organizations including Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, 4-H, and First Robotics, with youth ranging in ages from first grade through high school.


Dr. Hamrick is looking forward to working with the CESTA students. His hands on teaching approach and community involvement are a great fit for this project.
